Course Outline
Introduction
There has been an increased focus on siblings in care proceedings, especially following the Nuffield research by Professor Daniel Monk. Care proceedings commonly include assessments of siblings. These can often be poorly conducted, causing immense difficulties in proceedings. Sibling groups pose challenges to deal with in care proceedings especially when adoption is proposed for some but not all of the sibling group.
This webinar is aimed at looking at some of the issues that arise when considering sibling groups in care proceedings and how the courts have dealt with them. It will explore sibling assessments and how to spot an inadequate assessment. It will also consider issues of contact in care proceedings and in adoption.
What You Will Learn
This webinar will cover the following:
- How the courts have dealt with common issues relating to sibling groups
