Introduction
Third-party disputes in the form of oppositions and cancellation actions are a growing part of a trade mark specialist’s practice.
They are also a fast-moving area because of the ever-increasing body of case law.
This new virtual classroom seminar will give you confidence to handle disputes of this nature from start to finish, including drafting evidence, submissions, skeleton arguments and representing clients at hearings, including at appeals to the Appointed Person.
The session will include advice in relation to the form and nature of evidence and the essential elements of evidence, submissions, and skeleton arguments.
It will also give tips on the advocacy skills which are desirable for hearings and on dealing with unrepresented parties.
What You Will Learn
This live and interactive session will cover the following:
- How best to draft evidence and submissions and to avoid blurring the distinction between them
- The essential nature of skeleton arguments
- How to deal with third-party disputes involving unrepresented parties
- A pragmatic approach to costs awards
- Guidance on advocacy
Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
