Companies House - Proposed Corporate Transparency & Register Reforms

Introduction

If you are involved in advising companies (or have any dealings with Companies House filings), then this virtual classroom seminar is for you.

The Government has been consulting to radically change the nature of the Companies House Register, and a white paper including proposals to implement these changes was published in February 2022. These proposals will likely be put forward later this year in a supplemental or additional Bill to the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022.

This session will update you as to likely reform impact, including discussing how best to prepare for the impending changes.

• Identity verification for directors, PSCs and those filing information at Companies House (and how to prepare for this verification process) together with the consequences for lack of verification
• Extension of Companies House powers to investigate, corroborate, reject, amend and/or remove information
• Protection of personal information
• Reform of company accounts
• Other proposals to enhance transparency and tackle abuse such as the introduction of new systems to cross-reference data and make dissolved company records since 2010 available
