Course Outline
Introduction
The Environment Bill is set to require developments and schemes in England to achieve at least 10% biodiversity net gain that is maintained for a 30-year period. Although the Bill will not become a legal requirement until 2023, many planning authorities are already requesting that developers deliver net gains for biodiversity.
Therefore, we need mechanisms in place now to assist the effective delivery of biodiversity net gain. Such mechanisms can assist developers and planners during decision making, streamline the planning process, minimise delays to development, and maximise outcomes for biodiversity and the environment.
This webinar will discuss mechanisms that keep biodiversity at the forefront, while considering how to best meet planning authority and legislative requirements during this pivotal time.
