Introduction
Bruised from the impact of COVID-19, global markets are now recovering. As this gathers pace, businesses must remain responsive and agile to customers as well as willing to take managed risk in order to grow. Irrespective of size, purpose, sector and regional breadth, businesses must increasingly make supply chains in order to deliver operational success and to ensure swift, cost-effective, profitable and secure outcomes. Some supply chains will be simple, short, and easy to control, but many will be sophisticated, multi-layered and multi-jurisdictional.
In doing all this, businesses must address Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations, such as climate change and varying social and corporate norms, so as to satisfy shareholders and be attractive to investors.
How can businesses balance different needs? How can they satisfy corporate governance requirements and, most importantly, not lose existing markets (customers) through poor decision-making? The key is effective due diligence for outsourcing, procurement and growth activities.
This 1.5-hour workshop explores due diligence in detail. It will tackle key areas of corporate risk in the supply chain, including supplier choice (and lack of), transparency of information and reporting, reputation risk and the importance of contract terms. The perspective will be a worldwide one, tackling all issues faced by businesses all over the globe. Opportunities to stress-test supply chain challenges will be given, as well as the latest insights from the market and a summary of takeaways.
The workshop is designed for individuals in outsourcing/procurement, supply chain management, risk management and corporate governance at all tiers and whether in the private or public sector. It will take a global perspective.
