Course Outline
Introduction
British nationality law is complex and the myriad of provisions concerning children’s entitlements (discretionary or by right) to British Citizenship is often difficult to navigate.
Delivered by immigration expert Sarah Pinder, this webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the relevant nationality provisions as they apply to children and will assist practitioners to maximise their clients’ rights by helping to secure nationality entitlements for relevant children and potentially wider immigration rights for a child’s family members. The latter will involve an exploration into statelessness issues, and how these may interplay with a child’s nationality status and impact on wider immigration rights in the UK.
This webinar is ideal for lawyers working in immigration and nationality law, both at application stage and within nationality reconsideration applications and judicial review proceedings.
What You Will Learn
This webinar will cover the following:
- An analysis of the relevant nationality provisions and guidance relating to children
- Tips on the preparation of evidence and the conduct of applications so as to avoid applications being refused
- A detailed analysis of the relevant case-law, including that concerning potentially stateless children
